IPAF HARNESS USE & INSPECTION.
Promote and enable the safe, effective use of powered access worldwide. According to IPAF data, falls from the platform are a major cause of injury or fatality associated with using MEWPs.
Safety Critical Awareness
Awareness and understanding of how to correctly use a harness is critical to safe operation of boom-type MEWPs. IPAF offers three harness courses to meet the needs of different candidates: Harness Awareness (HA), Harness User (HU), and Harness Inspector (HI).
Candidates who do not need to personally use or wear a harness, such as managers, planners, and supervisors, should take the HA Course. Those who need to use or wear a harness themselves should first take the HA Course and then attend for the HU Course practical assessment.
